It's simply what happens when life around the lake spills onto the porch.
It's Fair Time.
In Northern New England the first changing leaves usher in the leaf peepers.
Along with opening the rounds of fairground gates.
The Agricultural County fairs have been a tradition since the 1800s.
Local farmers and kids of farmers bring out their best in livestock and goods.
From 4-H calves, sheep, goats, and pigs to giant draft horses to harness racers, the excitement is real.
The blueberry crunch with caramel smothered ice cream is to die for.
The barns are where young and old love to hang out.
The betting beer tents are buzzing.
And someone somewhere just won a ribbon.

And if somebody catches you wearing them to check the mail... they may just get jealous.
Not every outfit has to leave the house. In fact, it's an easy excuse not to.
These are for slow coffee mornings wrapped in a shrug, wandering out to water the garden with a cup of tea, or one more chapter on the porch before the day gets serious.
