Welcome to The Summer Farmhouse Porch

This is the summer farmhouse porch. Also dubbed "The Verandahhh" due to my Southern accent... and more obvious reasons. My gingerbread porch is where gossip flies, Harley riders are ignored (or roasted), life plans or floor plans are rearranged... and somehow five minutes mysteriously turns into five hours.

It's where friends "hang out for just a minute," scene notes are secretly written, drinks disappear faster than expected, and every so often somebody leaves with a new joke, a new Match profile... or perhaps a GoFundMe page.

This porch has heard more stories than I could ever tell. Some found their way into books (those here). Most didn't. This porch has seen thunderstorms roll across the hayfield and heard loons call from the lake for well over a century. Within the last decade, it's witnessed grand plans hatched over coffee—or sangria on demand from the spigot—and absolutely nothing but nonsense for hours at a time... which is entirely the point.

So pull up a rocker. The view's nice, the conversation tends to wander, and if Charlie shows up... well... don't encourage her.
